Meet Attorney Romelia DeDe Soto
With more than 20 years of legal experience, Romelia DeDe Soto is prepared to provide you with the knowledgeable advice and skilled representation you need. With a background in real estate and business, DeDe is well-equipped to handle complex, high-asset matters and business successions.
Thank you for visiting my website—I look forward to meeting you. While some find it hard to believe, I am Cuban American. My dad immigrated from Cuba, and my mom is from the Midwest with German and Irish roots. “DeDe,” the name most people know me by, is my nickname! Now, a little bit about my background:
I established The Soto Law Group APC to fully dedicate myself to the needs of families, individuals, and business owners. Utilizing my broad legal background, beginning with family law, business litigation, and real estate law, I began by offering estate planning services on a referral basis, primarily for family and friends. I’ve been able to integrate my business acumen and real estate knowledge, along with my passion for coaching and teaching, to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of my clients. My practice has evolved to include all areas of estate planning, trust administration, probate, conservatorships, and trust and probate litigation.
I’ve always believed that traditional estate planning—which often focuses solely on financial wealth and tax strategies—is far too narrow. True legacy goes beyond bank accounts and balance sheets. I believe estate planning should also preserve intellectual, spiritual, and human wealth—the values, stories, and life lessons that define a family.
That’s why I’m committed to a more holistic approach to family wealth planning. I guide individuals, families, and businesses at every stage of life toward thoughtful, comprehensive plans that honor family dynamics, protect assets, plan for succession, and preserve legacies—not just for the next generation, but for generations to come.
For those who have minor children, our Child Protection Plan offers peace of mind knowing that, if something unexpected or unthinkable happens to mom and dad, their children won’t have to spend time in Child Protective Services or foster care while waiting for their permanent guardians to arrive. I also help protect children’s inheritances from future creditors and predators.
I also handle matters that involve Probate and Litigation. Whether it’s inheritance rights, trust disputes or probate, I guide and advise clients on how to navigate an estate that is headed to Probate court. This is why I design estate plans that help avoid Probate court or litigation. I’ve seen it too many times—families torn apart because Mom and Dad failed to plan. Now the heirs are battling it out in court, not just over the estate, but over things as small as candelabras, while burning through their inheritance on legal and court fees. A little planning today can prevent a lot of pain tomorrow. Or people who fail to plan and their loved ones must get Conservatorships which are expensive and time consuming.
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, volunteering at my church, and playing golf.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and my Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law. I’ve also pursued continuing education at Chapman School of Law.
